Event Date:November 13-14, 2021

By-the-Bay 3K

As of April, 2021, we are NOT planning to hold the 2021 By the Bay 3K, part of the Monterey Bay Half Marathon race weekend. We continue to closely watch developments in the distribution and use of vaccines for the COVID-19 pandemic and we know the governor of California has said things could return to normal in mid-June 2021 if certain metrics are met. However, at this time, it is still unknown if we would be able to receive a permit for a large in-person event in November 2021.

Our highest priority is always the safety of our participants, volunteers, friends and family, and residents. We were also very concerned about having access to needed public safety and medical officials, volunteers, and personal protection equipment and supplies during this ongoing crisis. If there are any changes in our plan to NOT hold a race in 2021, we will update this website.

$10.00 for children and youth ages 4 through 17
$25.00 for adults ages 18 and over

Paper registration forms are not available. Registration date to be determined.

Registrants must be 4 years of age or older and in good health to participate. Official 2020 original race numbers are required to take part in the event. For safety and liability reasons, children in strollers may participate if they start in the back. Sorry, but no dogs allowed on course or at the start/finish area in Lovers Point Park.

Bibs and event shirts can be picked up at the Health & Fitness Expo at the Monterey Conference Center. A photo ID is required for pick-up.

Race morning pick-up is available at Lovers Point Park beginning at 6:30 AM.

The 3K begins at 8 AM at Lovers Point Park in Pacific Grove.

On race day, there will be parking in the Pacific Grove public parking lots and on neighborhood streets. Be sure to note any parking enforcement signs and hours.

The course is out-and-back beginning and ending at Lovers Point Park with a turnaround at Coral Street. Runners go west in the inland lane and after turning around, return to the finish in the ocean-side lane. View a 3K course map.

The 3K is a timed but not competitive fun run; there are no “winners” or divisional awards. All participants receive an event shirt and finishers’ medal. There will be refreshments and pre and post-race activities for the kids at Lovers Point Park.
